Question My 6-year old child has been showing some strange behavior lately, one me and my husband can only describe as psychic. He reports visions, imaginary people and sounds. He has mentioned some things he should not know and we have later verified to be true. I am not fully convinced about psychic stuff so I would like to see a specialist to know if my son is really psychic or just possess an overactive imagination. I heard of places that work with children but am unsure who they are and how to contact them. Any idea of an organization that works with children with psychic gifts? We just need someone that can either verify or explain if the boy indeed has this gift.
First off, it is a little scary to entrust your child for his mind to be poked around with, either by a psychic or a clinical psychiatrist. Make sure you do thorough research on any individual or group you find that can help your child. With that said, children’s minds are not as developed conceptually as adults making them very open to new experiences and feelings older people may tend to ignore. Very often, they do not have a preconceived concept to apply to everything they sense in the world. So, when they first contact something they have never seen before they are open and accepting of whatever it is. They do not question the reality of their own experience. They don’t have a word for it therefore they do not block any part of their experience of it because they have no past experience of it in their memory to overshadow the present experience.Their mind does not have that overriding compulsion to explain it away in terms of a manufactured preconceived conceptual “reality”. Their minds are truly open to everything they sense and they do not judge what they experience as “right” and “wrong”. Therefore, they do not block and attempt to control what they experience. There are a lot of children showing psychic abilities. There are several books and even a movie based on Indigo Children, Crystal Children, and Rainbow Children. Do some research and see if your child fits with one of them. I believe there are also schools that work with special cases like these. A short research around the web shows an Indigo Child may see auras as lights or colors around other people and show an uncanny ability to sense dishonesty. Does this describe your child? Work on educating yourself first so you can have a better sense of how your child is behaving. After that, you can consider the options to go to. I have 3 year old child who can only talk with the dead, but can commuicate with angels, and knows what some people are thinking. Mostly those he is well connected with, like family members and close friends. She began showing her ability after my mother passed away last July. Now she seems to be getting stronger, knowing when people are ill, and whos’ coming to visit, as well speaking with angels. She claims some her knowledge comes from the angels. Either way, I have read a few books on children with abilities. My question to you if you know of any school and books I can read to help her abilities?
I live in New York City and done a google search but I get nothing, except for this web site and a few others. Please could help.

I have a little girl that just turned three who demonstrates pyschic behaviors and intense empathy for others. She has drawn pictures of a cement truck and describes it as the two boys inside get hurt–sure enough 10 days later, this happened and her picture had the color blue which was the color of the cement truck. She also drew a crane and less then two weeks there was an accident with a crane–her picture closely resembled the photo from the newspaper. Not sure what to make of this?
My daughter is only 17 months old but shows a remarkable empathy for others and will give things to other children if she sees they are unhappy. last weekend that empathy took a different turn when we were hiking in the woods near an old indian mound and we encountered a very old tree with lots of gnarly roots covering the trail. All of a sudden she stopped, pointed to them and started to cry out and then proceeded to step gingerly over and around them…a 17 month old! Who knows what we’ll see as she gets older, she doesn’t talk much yet, mostly signing a bit of talk.
My daughter is also 3 years old and is experiencing the same as elizabeth colon mentioned above.
she claims to see angels and that they are sad because they miss their families and can not get to heaven. she says she doesn’t know how to help them.she often knows specific things i am about to say or what people are thinking.shes very sensitive to emotions and knows when someone is sick-especially mentally ill.I would like to know how i can help her not be so afraid? she is terrified at night.Is there anyone i can talk to for advice? and how do we know if we should take this seriously or not?

First off I do not want to overplay this. My daughter is almost 15 years old.
as of the last several months she has told us she is seeing shadows of people and of animals. I am not sure what to do. she has had a history of night terrors since she was around three. I dont know if she is sensitve or what any suggestions
kevin, when i was 15 i was trying to talk to my parents about what i was starting to see (it started a bit earlier for me), but they wouldn’t listen. i think you should help her do a bit research on seeing spirits, show her that you are there for her and that you are interested…even if it freaks you out. i know thats what would have helped me. good luck
I might be able to help if some people need it. I grew up as a psychic child and to this day, at age 16, I still have the ability. I can relate to what other psychic kids go through. i too have a 6 year old that displays certain abilitties.She sees things that have not yet happened.for instance one of our closest friends lost his 2year old daughter this past april my daughter sat in the kitchen with us as him and his fiance came to drop off some of his daughters old toys (being how they didnt want to be reminded of the tragedie) so my 6 year old told him and his fiance to take the toys back home for the new babygirl.And since that day she has been talking about the new babygirl for sammy,sure enough 3 month later our friends fiance comes over here and takes a pregnancy test…..POSITIVE….just a week ago she had her first ultrasound…A GIRL….and that is just one of my daughters episodes.Iam at times not sure how to handle her abilities not i dont believe her but she sees so much that sometimes i am not sure how to responde.
